Rocket Design Challenge
Design, test and improve a paper rocket while exploring forces, stability and fair testing.
Paper, tape, drinking straw, ruler, pencil
What to do
Sketch two rocket designs and predict which will travel farther.
Build both rockets using the same amount of paper.
Launch each rocket three times from the same point.
Measure the distances and calculate the average.
Change one design feature and test again.
What this develops
Forces, variables, measurement, iteration and evidence-based design.
